Artomatic 2012
Artomatic is a six week event known as the DC’s one of a kind art extravaganza and biggest creative event where there is approximately 1,300 artists and performers from the local area. Artomatic transforms available space into a playground for artistic expression. Did I mention that this event is housed in an eleven story building, where every floor is busting with art work and performances! There is no pay for entry it is completely free. Not only does Artomatic feature a great wide variety of paintings, music, photography, music, theater, poetry and dance, but they also have great workshops that even kids would enjoy. There are also a cafĂ©, several food and drink stations, and an artist marketplace where visitors can purchase artists’ selected artwork. You will find amazing work throughout the floors ranging from different medium murals furniture design and a lot of art installation that encourages visitors to interact. Artomatic is bursting with inspiration, talent and surprises. This has to be one of DC’s gems an artsy massive takeover. If it isn't the largest volunteer-run arts organization in the country, it's probably near the top.
